What’s Surrey Camp?
Surrey Camp is an innovative event, bringing together a range of do-ers, thinkers and innovators across the public, voluntary and private sectors. We’ll be hearing about cutting edge projects, supporting creativity and collaboration – and most importantly leading participants through a process to help them use design principles and digital technology to their own great ideas.
This is an event with a difference. The purpose is change and by the end of the day we should have a range of great ideas for better, cheaper services at a stage where they’re ready to be developed and put into action.
When and where?
An all day event on 15 September at the University of Surrey in Guildford.
Who should come?
Places are limited and we need to ensure a great mix of skills and representation from organisations and interest groups across Surrey. Mainly we’re looking for people who are passionate about public service and who have the ability to deliver change. We need people whose skills might be in project management, a service specialism, engagement, communications, IT or digital tech.

Why is it called a camp, surely a Camp is where people take tents and caravans etc and stay overnight?
Hey Tricia, the term has its origins in the informal and often overnight/weekend nature of these events. They are also sometimes called Open Space events or unconferences. In ours though, we’ll be borrowing from several different techniques.
We promise a pretty exciting agenda, but feel free to bring your sleeping bag!
